Book Fair
Christina Margolis & McKenzie Gratz The Book Fair Committee is to coordinate and organize an annual book fair event. The tasks include working with the book company, publicity, recruiting and scheduling volunteers for setup, sales and take down, and running the event.

Family Picnic
Julie Cameron & Emily DeSmidt Family Picnic is an annual spring event which invites families to "picnic and play" at Wescott School and field. The Family Picnic Committee is to devise a plan/budget for the event, securing food vendors and entertainment, organize sub-committees and volunteers, running the event.

Fifth Grade Luncheon
Lisa Fishbain, Jessy Aaron, Adan Galvan & Shal Shah The Fifth Grade Luncheon takes place at the end of the school year and serves as a send-off for the fifth grade class. This committee is in charge of planning and coordinating food, decorations, DVD, games and memory wall for the celebration.

Kindergarten Social

This Committee's responsibilites are planning and organizing incoming kindergarten and famly social events in the Wescott playground, including popsicles event.

Lauren Edwards, Amanda Hamner & Nell Osbourne This annual fundraiser occurs during a school day in October. Walk for Wescott Committee's responsibilities include planning and promoting the event, designing the annual banner and collecting donations from the Wescott community.

Tiffany Kane The Welcome Back Luncheon is for the Wescott teachers and administrative staff to kick off the new school year. The Wescott PTO Social Committee aims to foster socialization and community by organizing a variety of fun, interesting events for Wescott parents and guardians. The Social Committee will be responsible for planning and coordinating activities that will bring us together simply to 'mix and mingle.'

Jen Hayley This Committee organizes a lunch, gifts, or activities to show our appreciation to teachers, bus drivers, crossing guards, janitors, etc. during Teacher Appreciation Week.

Carrie Mangoubi This committee is responsible for bringing a variety of programming to the school and classrooms. It selects quality cultural and educational programs for students. The committee members attend the annual "Showcase" where presenters and performers audition and are available for questions and bookings. This position works closely with the principal.

Cindy Paddor The Birthday Signs Fundraiser lets you surprise your child with a lawn full of “Happy Birthday from Wescott” signs on their special day. This Committee is to organize pick up and drop off signs & dates for students birthday signs for parents to put in their lawn. Parent/Guardians are responsible for picking up, installing, and returning birthday signs.

This committee builds connections between our school, families, and the community to create a welcoming and inclusive environment. It serves as a bridge between the PTO and cultural communities and promote initiatives that encourage family engagement and awareness on important topics like digital safety and respectful school culture.

Diverse Books

This Commitee is to review and recommend diverse books for Wescott's library and assists in bringing diverse authors to the school.

They maintain contact with the classroom teacher to discuss any needs or preferences the teacher might have for these activities. They also send out reminder emails throughout the year to alert room parents of upcoming classroom parties and events.

The food days are the PTO sponsored Wednesday special lunches.

The responsibilities of this committee include ordering the food, organizing the volunteers, and running the actual food day.

This Committee is to research and interview vendors that sell personalized products, develop order forms to include in Wescott Word, set up samples, collect the orders and money and distribute the items.

Yearbook

Emily DeSmidt

The Yearbook Committee is responsible for collecting photographs throughout the school year and working with a yearbook company to create a yearbook available for distribution in the spring.

Payment for the book is due at the beginning of the school year.

This committee is responsible for the sale as well as the creation of the yearbook.

Wescott PTO Fundraising

The primary objective of the Wescott PTO is to coordinate and organize fundraising activities to provide for additional educational programs, equipment and other resources at Wescott School. Thanks to our generous community and hard working parents, the PTO has donated many items to Wescott over the past six years, including the following:

Teacher’s Lounge updates including; new cabinets and counter tops, fridges, microwaves, couch, and highboy coffee table and chairs
Flexible furniture to modernize classrooms
Basketball hoops for the gym (combined with a donation from Lew Blond Memorial)
Classroom set of VR (Virtual Reality) glasses and equipment to incorporate with the Science Program
iPads for 1st/2nd Grade Classroom Centers
4 Standing Desks for our more active learners
Elmo Presenters for Resource Rooms
LCD Projectors for Resource Rooms
Digital Cameras
Bike Racks
Folding Chairs and Storage Dolly
Interactive White Boards for classrooms
Stage Pieces
50th Anniversary Welcome Mat

In addition to the specific gifts listed above, the money raised through the PTO supports the Assembling and Programming, Spring Reading Challenge, Wescott Carnival, Teacher Request Fund, and so many more enriching activities every school year.

The PTO also uses funds raised to help unify the community and celebrate our achievements. Specifically, the PTO sponsors all luncheons honoring our children and staff, including the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon and 5th Grade Luncheon. In addition, the PTO hosts receptions welcoming new parents to the community and provides gifts on behalf of the community to departing teachers and staff as a token of our appreciation.

As a reminder, at all PTO events, students are expected to follow all instructions from designated chaperones and conduct themselves in accordance with school behavioral expectations as set forth in the Student Handbook (Board Policy 7:190). Parents will be notified during the event of any infraction. Loss of the privilege from the event is an option if the issue can not be resolved.

Wescott Birthday Signs

The Wescott PTO runs this fundraiser in which families can rent on your lawn the night before your child's birthday. This year birthday signs will be installed by you! You will receive an email telling you your pick up time, date, and location. You will also be responsible for bringing the sign back to its original location.
